Superstar or crazy childish dreams
Being “almost” finished with my current education, I’ve been doing some thinking and analysis of what my life has been so far and what I want it to be in the future. I’ve been recalling every single thing I dreamed of becoming when I was a little kid (mind the delusional ideas) and this is what I could remember:
-Pop singer (at that time I was thinking of becoming the next Whitney Houston, I was four years old).
-Architect (I studied a year of Industrial Design).
-Professional ballet dancer (I danced ballet for over eight years).
-Opera singer (I studied music for over eight years and singing for two years).
-Archeologist alla Indiana Jones.
-Physical educator (I’m one).
-Secret agent.
-Polyglot.
-Tennis player alla Steffi Graff (I still play squash).
-Fashion designer (I love shopping).
-Model.
-Martial arts expert. This included not only being a ninja, but also a shaolin kung-fu master, and expert in every major martial art there is. You can’t be the best if you only master one martial art, you know (I did some karate, tae-kwon-do and kickboxing for some years).
I still would have loved becoming an opera singer or a martial arts expert right now, but instead, I lead a normal, ordinary life. I wonder if all those childhood dreams were something I should have followed through, I wonder if I was meant to become a superstar, or if it only was a sign of how delusional as a child I was (am). I’m sure I wasn’t the only one with silly dreams, but dreams are that important thing that makes us do things and that leads us somewhere. What did you dream of becoming yourself? Did you manage to?
