I can’t stand fashion freaks

For nearly two years I’ve been an active member of a fashion forum where one could discuss everything fashion related. I’m really into fashion and shopping, yes! However, I’ve come to realize how snob and intolerant some of these so called fashion freaks can be.

See, most of the people who frequent that forum are self-declared fashion-aware experts. They believe to have a say about what’s in, what’s out, what’s pretty and what’s not. They think so high of themselves after acquiring a pair of Louboutin’s and buying the last issue of Vogue. They think they’re so unique cause they “dare” to dress differently when they’re actually dressing exactly the same as other fellow fashionistas, or copying one of the Olsen twins. They’re almost like sheep following other sheep.

What irritates me is when these simple, ordinary people get so high up on themselves preaching and talking down to other “less aware” people about their not so trendy, modern choices. Whenever some other member asks for opinion about an item of clothing that doesn’t match what the fashionable members deem trendy or cool, the person asking will get a harsh and unfriendly response like:“it’s gruesome”, “eew”, “I want to die after seeing that thing”, “those are the most horrible shoes I’ve ever seen”, “that’s so last year”...etc. See? Not very intelligent and well thought out answers.

I hate it when these people think their opinions are like the ten commandments of fashion. Fashion should only function as a means to bring our inner self to the surface, to show the world our truly self. Besides that fashion is irrelevant, so I find it incredibly stupid to make a big number out of it. So please relax people. Not because you think white stilettos are a big fashion no-no, it means they’re gruesome. Some other people might even like them and they’re in their fully right to happily wear them.
